The Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History is housed within a four-story brick building that is an interesting part of Parkersburg's colorful past. Constructed in 1902 to house the Starr Grocer Company's offices and warehouses. The company doubled the buildings size in the 1920s, but suffered during the Great Depression and eventually went out of business. The structure was purchased in 1947 by the Guthrie-Morris Campbell Company of Charleston, West Virginia who used the building until they sold it in 1983 to the Blennerhassett Historical Park Commission, which renovated the building from 1985 to1986 and opened the Blennerhassett Museum of Regional History.
Unfortunately, what we DIDN'T get to see were the two ghosts alleged to roam the third floor of the building! According to A Guide to Haunted West Virginia (Gavenda and Shoemaker), a man in a straw hat, along with a larger lady with a fondness for the color scarlet, are both seen on this floor. Are they former residents or employees of the building itself...or are they somehow attached to one of the many artifacts located in the building?
We visited this location in July of 2019. After we were there, we found out the paranormal claims about the location. The following are some of the photographs from the location, to see more photographs, see the photo page linked above.

Many spirits are said to walk the halls of the three stories available for investigation: native spirits in the basement, a little girl who loves to play and show herself to shocked visitors, and a man in a suit who searches out females in the building to help fill his lonely hours.
